Coffee, a drink so common to us Americans. The typical coffee "experience" for the vast majority of Americans would probably consist of walking in, then walking out with their cup of joe. On the other hand, for the true coffee enthusiasts, there is a whole other world when it comes to coffee. Commercial coffee has become so common that the common people will perceive what's around us the most as the standard.
As a once in awhile, close to never, coffee drinker that I am this experience was beyond what I was expecting. My past experience with coffee would be summed up as Dunkin Donuts Iced Coffee and living with a roommate who was actually involved in the real culture and community of coffee. To say the least, our apartment always smelled of good freshly made pour over coffee. Living with my roommate at the time, I became more aware that there was a whole other side to coffee that the average person does not see.
Flight Coffee Co. is a great little find tucked away in the eastern parts of New Hampshire. With a roastery located in the town of Bedford and a cafe in the city of Dover, Flight Coffee Co. does an excellent job in providing great coffee to the New England area of America. Still being in their first year of business Flight Coffee Co. and the genuine team that it consists of welcomed me in my pursuit of documenting another subculture, the world of Coffee.
From imported raw beans to the various end products such as latte's, pour overs and espresso, I was able to see the whole process of coffee as it would be here in America. With a deeper understanding of the entire process I can surely say I have a deeper appreciation for coffee and those who love it. I now know that good coffee is able to hold its own and does not need milk or sugar (who would have thought!). Of all the various things I enjoyed throughout my whole time at Flight Coffee Co. (sampling different coffees was great) what I enjoyed the most was watching and being surrounded by genuine people doing something they are passionate about. That to me is something worth sharing. With constant effort, my goal is being able to relay that passion of others through photos I take. Hopefully this post can somewhat scratch the surface of my personal experiences. That being said I will still choose tea over coffee, thank you all for reading and viewing, and thank you Flight for welcoming me into your world of coffee!
